Welcome.

Something in you is insisting, asking to be heard. You might experience this insistence as anxiety, depression, or patterns that repeat in your relationships with others. Psychoanalysis offers a unique way of working with speech, loosening painful knots to open the possibility for something new. In our work together, I will invite you to speak freely about anything and everything that’s on your mind. I will listen to you carefully and without judgment. We will explore your dreams, your fantasies, your memories, and the repetitions that characterize your suffering and make it difficult to pursue what you want—or perhaps even to know what that could be.

Over time, your speech may guide us into listening for the textures of what is painful in your life, opening the door to more surprise, more humor, and more pleasure. I will work alongside you to create a place where you can articulate and discover the logics that cause your suffering, and facilitate your own creative process of engendering more freedom in your life.

Many people have had the experience of reaching out to speak, only to encounter more attempts to “cure” what is most singular in them. Far from trying to cure you, our work will aim toward listening for what you desire, in your own way. I welcome every form of difference.

How?

We will begin with an initial phone consultation. Then, we can decide to schedule more time to meet. While we may begin by meeting once a week, this work often involves meeting more frequently. If we decide to work together, we will determine a frequency for meeting. We will also discuss a fee to work with.
